I had a couple options for tonight’s post, but it seems my Facebook fans and Twitter followers are huge peanut butter lovers like I am. For all the years before my blog, I thought I was alone in my peanut butter addiction. What a relief to know there is a support group! So, in honor of peanut butter lovers and addicts around the world, I’ll be holding a peanut butter party on the blog Sunday night. Email me (KeepItSweetLCL at gmail dot com) your links and I’ll include them in the post. And for those of you who don’t love peanut butter, who are you? I have a delicious frozen mocha dessert coming soon.
Now onto tonight’s recipe: A recipe that brings my love of peanut butter, cookie dough and chocolate all into one dessert. A recipe that is easy to make and relatively healthy enough to sub in for a mid-day snack (don’t you love sweets like that?). A recipe that I almost shouldn’t have because I’m officially addicted.
These may just become your favorite food. I’ve been eating dough balls individually straight out of the freezer but I can’t stop thinking about ways to incorporate them into other desserts. This could get dangerous.

What kind of dessert should I make with these cookie dough balls?
I want to make these now!
Fruit (applesauce), healthy fats, oats, whole wheat flour, antioxidants (dark chocolate)…I think this sounds like breakfast.
What to make with those? You could make dessert kebabs with marshmallows and truffles. Or, mix them into ice cream. Or both.
The wait was worth it! Those look incredible!!! Eeeee! Peanut butter lovers unite! I can’t wait for Sunday! :)
I’ve made something similar, but not with peanut butter. What was I thinking?!? I love the idea of these on kebobs! I think they would make a great frozen yogurt topping too…but that’s just my favorite treat of late :)
So would it be weird if I went for fro yo and just BYOCD?
I’d totally support it!
Will self-professed peanut butter lovers get T-shirts? I feel like there should be T-shirts.
omg we do need T-shirts
WANT! WANT! WANT!
I love this idea! I’ve been wanting to try something similar for a while now – I will definitely try your recipe!! Oh and I will send you a pb link!
Pretty much on my way to my kitchen to make these. Right now. They look and sound perfect. I am definitely a PB l.o.v.e.r.!!!
DO IT!
These are amazing! Using applesauce, peanut butter and whole wheat flour? GENIUS! Since you asked what type of dessert…
what about individual cheesecakes with these flattened and baked at the bottom of mini muffin tins?
Or ice-cream sandwiches…roll them thin and bake?
The other thing I see is more oats and baked like granola bars.
I know – that whatever you do, they’ll be amazing!
Ok, I want all of those things!
Super! I think you just might have created a series for yourself! I look forward to every delicious bite!
I blame you for the 7lbs I will inevitably gain from making/eating/remaking/eating-more-of these.
and I love you for it.
I feel like I should have a weight-gaining disclaimer on my blog.
I just discovered your blog and I’m soo glad I did! These look delicious!
I’m so glad you did, too:-)
OOo, I’m one of your peanut butter loving fans! :) I think I have a ton of peanut butter recipes too! These look so tasty. I think it’s best to keep them in the freezer, that way it takes longer to eat one!
Definitely send your favorite recipe my way!
Oooh these sound good! I love PB! I used to keep a jar in my locker in High School and I think I used to eat it with totally random things that my mom packed into my lunch. LOL
I think I may start keeping a jar of pb in my locker. I love this.
That is awesome!
I love peanut butter! These look so good I need to try them
These cookie dough balls looks so fabulous! I love that the recipe is so easy too. I’ll def be trying these :-)
I really wish I hadn’t read this….so do my pants. LOVE!
peanut butter is the best..trumps anything.
Can’t wait for Sunday..I have something to share!
LOL, ditto
These look just fabulous! What a great treat!!!
these look great! I would probs just put them in ice cream or yogurt :)
Mwahaha definitely just found my next cookie victim! Thanks :)
Oooh fun! Love the combination. :)
Find an ice cream maker and mix these babies in! Sounds so yummy
PB party? I’m in! :)
Love that you can eat these raw. I might have to make these for the weekend. The Mr. loves cookie dough-thanks!
Cookie dough ball that are so easy and healthy–it doesn’t get any better than that! I think chopped up a bit and sprinkled on ice cream would be hard to beat.
A healthy cookie dough ball, genius!!
I am absolutely a part of your peanut butter club and will be coming by on Sunday!! I love this.. who doesn’t love eating cookie dough? I can’t wait to give these a whirl.. you should totally put them into cupcakes! I have a recipe on my blog for cookie dough cupcakes you might be able to use!!
Send any links my way if I should include them in the post! Great idea on cupcakes, I’ll check out your recipe:-)
Mmmm….beloved peanut butter. Definitely must try these treats.
I never get sick of cookie dough, and I’m definitely making these! Any leftovers that I don’t eat as is might get tossed into some homemade ice cream ;).
Love that you used apple sauce and maple syrup in these!
These look super delicious!! LOVE peanut butter!!”:)
I love raw balls! It’s amazing how something healthy can be so delish. I love this recipe–WTG, girl! You are def not alone in you obsession for peanut butter. :)
These look delicious!
I want that for a snack! Ha, ha.
Wow this is a great recipe. However I THINK THE FLOUR AND OATMEAL SHOULD BE SLIGHTLY ROASTED BEFORE MIXING WITH OTHER INGREDIENTS to go easy on the digestion. Thank you
I think that would help if you have digestion problems. While I have had problems with raw oatmeal, these do not bother my stomach. I think because the serving size is small, they are not a problem.
These look so good! I think they would be perfect as-is!
I could totally see me nonchalantly popping these in my mouth every three minutes and then realizing an hour later I completely finished ALL of them… I’m Ashley, and I’m addicted to peanut butter.
I love that these are no bake!! Sounds delicious! :)
What a perfect idea!
There is truly nothing better than cookie dough..
Thank you for the delicious post! xo
Can’t wait to try these!! My stepdaughter always wants to eat the dough when we bake cookies, but I’m so worried about salmonella. These will satisfy our craving for cookie dough without the worry of the raw egg. Awesome!
Congratulations on making Top 9 with these – I can’t wait to see what you do next!
I love PB too in every which way. These dough balls look great!
Hi Lauren!
I have an amazing idea for your cookie dough balls! A Peanut Butter Blizzard!
I got this recipe from Angela at Oh She Glows. It’s vegan, delicious, and sooo easy to make. I am craving one right now! I would suggest adding a Tbsp or so of peanut butter to make it even more PB-y. Hope you can try it out! Let me know if you do!
Thanks, Claire! I had seen that a while ago, great reminder!
The best kind of dessert for these is to pop them into my mouth one at a time :)
Yummy!
I remember something very much like this from my childhood. They sound awesome and if I remember right, they were!
I’m definitely a huge peanut butter lover. Thinking about making these tomorrow!
Oh my goodness. Do I love peanut butter!!! I never have whole wheat flour. I know it is healthier, but do you think I would be able to use all- purpose?
You definitely can!
